About the Department of Enrolment Services

About the Role

Reporting to the Coordinator, Student Recruitment, the Recruitment Assistant will be required to provide initial/ongoing service and information to serve a high volume of prospective students both in-person, and responding to telephone and email inquiries. This position acts as an important front-line role that requires strong customer service skills with external and internal clients of . You must be knowledgeable about all aspects of Mount Royal activities as well as policies, procedures, programs, dates and deadlines, specifically related to admission to Mount Royal.

This is a replacement term position commencing January 13, 2020 and ending December 24, 2020.

Responsibilities Use exemplary customer service skills to convey information on admission requirements and program offerings to prospective students and their influencers
Interpret and dispense general information about University programs, services, policies, procedures and practices
Provide accurate and complete information to clients. Must employ active listening skills to extract appropriate information to provide relevant and accurate responses
Maintain an in-depth understanding of policies and procedures associated with the admissions process
Screen in-person, telephone and email inquiries to determine (a) whether their questions can be answered through published information, (b) whether they should be booked into an appointment and the nature of the appointment, (c) the urgency of appointment, or (d) whether they should be referred to another department
Maintain a detailed understanding of the student information system (Banner) and customer relationship management software (EzRecruit) to retrieve and interpret information
Answer and/or refer frequently asked questions and inquiries within the CRM (EzRecruit) in a timely and thorough manner
Work closely with recruitment officers and admission evaluators to ensure prospective students are provided with accurate and timely information related to their application

Qualifications Two-year diploma or equivalent
12-18 months of previous related experience
Excellent customer service and communication skills to serve a high volume of clients on a daily basis
Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent organizational skills (ability to handle continuous telephone, email and in-person traffic; multi-tasking)
Understand why specific policies and procedures exist and be able to explain them fully to prospective students
Computer literacy skills
Previous experience involving customer services related activities
Keyboarding speed and accuracy
Ability to work independently and use a high level of independent judgement
