Reporting to the Manager Budgeting & Financial Programs, the position handles the processing requirements of the Fur Price Program and provides on-going basis regular reports to affected Divisions within the Department detailing pertinent performance reports regarding financial results, internal controls, procedures and systems. The Fur Program Coordinator is responsible for the revenue collection process relating to division program receivables. This position provides general administrative support to the Corporate Services division of the department. This position also provides specific support to the department in the areas of licensing, permitting and fur pricing within legislated acts, guidelines, policies and procedures of the department and the Government of Nunavut to ensure program delivery and reporting objectives are met in an efficient and accurate manner. At the same time, the organization is deeply committed to maintaining a workforce that is representative of the population and whose operations reflect the principles of Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit.

The incumbent will be the lead contact for the Fur Pricing Program and Games & Licensing tracking systems for the department by carrying out the data entry of all related financial documents and completing the related bank reconciliations, inventory reports and various other duties related to this specialized program.

The knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this job are usually obtained through a High School Diploma and (1) one year related experience.

The Official Languages of Nunavut are Inuktitut, Inuinnaqtun, English and French.

Fluency in more than one of Nunavut’s official language is an asset. Ability speak and write in Inuktitut is an asset. Knowledge of Inuit language, communities, culture, land and Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit is an asset.

Equivalencies that consist of an acceptable combination of education and experience may be considered.
