Complex Care and Recovery Program
The Complex Care and Recovery Program is currently recruiting a full-time, permanent Behaviour Therapist to work with clients on the Integrated Rehabilitation Unit (IRU), Unit 1-4. Reporting to Manager and working as a member of inter-professional team, the Behaviour Therapist will work within a recovery based model of care to provide in-patient behaviour therapy services to individuals with a dual diagnosis (i.e. developmental disabilities and mental health needs) as well as individuals with challenging behaviours related to their mental health diagnosis (i.e., personality disorders). Using a bio-psychosocial approach and encompassing the Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) functions of data collection and analysis, behavioural analysis and behavioural intervention, you will collaborate with the various disciplines within the program in the development of integrated formulations, diagnoses and recommendations in accordance with best practice (evidence based) approaches to working with challenging client’s living with mental illness. You will provide behavioural treatment assessment, intervention, and evaluation. You will work with the client, family, service providers and interprofessional team to develop and implement treatment plans that are tailored to the individuals’ needs. You will liaise with other services in CAMH, community agencies and other practitioners to coordinate care for clients. You will be able to work with clients from diverse populations, contribute to program development, provide education, support and supervision to students and participate in the research activities of the program. This position is located primarily at 1001 Queen Street West.
The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor of Arts and a Behaviour Sciences Technology diploma and have at least two years experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, serious mental illness and/or dual diagnosis. If a member of a regulated health care profession, proof of registration and a member in good standing in the respective regulatory body is required. Knowledge of community resources and systems issues is an asset; experience in providing consultation and staff training is required. Experience with, transitioning clients between institution and community settings is also an asset. The ability to work effectively as a team member in a dynamic environment is required. Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem solving, decision making and organizational skills are essential. The ability to work with clients of diverse ethno racial and cultural backgrounds is required. Bilingualism (French/English) and/or proficiency in a second language is considered an asset.
Please Note: This full-time, permanent position is part of the OPSEU bargaining unit.
Salary Range: $30.60$41.26 per hour
